    What is a pallet?<\/h5><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/summary>

    A pallet is an industry standard base which enables consignments of goods to be transported safely. Usually made from wood and measuring 1.0m x 1.2m, they enable the consignment of goods to be mechanically lifted safely by a fork lift truck (or similar) to be loaded onto a vehicle or stored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because of the use of forklifts, the gap in the pallet to accept the forks must have a minimum height clearance of 100mm \u2013 ideally the pallet should have 4-way entry (i.e. be capable of being lifted from any side).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The pallet must be in good condition and of sufficient strength to adequately support the goods during transit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pallets are re-usable provided they remain in good condition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

    How should I wrap the pallet?<\/h5><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/summary>

    All goods should be secured to a pallet using pallet wrapping or appropriate strapping before the driver arrives. Pallet wrapping (which is like strong cling-film) provides no protection for your goods and they must already be well packaged and protected before they go on the pallet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Goods must remain within the confines of the pallet to protect the goods from impact damage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n

    How do I prepare my pallet for collection<\/h5><\/span><\/svg><\/span><\/summary>

    1. Items must be secured to a safe, strong pallet, wrapped and accessible to a pallet vehicle for loading. Items on the pallet must be suitably packaged and protected so that they will not be damaged in transit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Pallets will tilt when lifted by forklift and goods must therefore be stable, centred and balanced on the pallet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Your item must not overhang the pallet base or allotted height as specified<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. You should book extra space if needed. The pallet base is 1.2m deep x 1m wide and the Goods should not overhang the pallet base.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Pallets must not exceed the weight stated for the appropriate pallet size. In all cases pallets should not exceed 1,000kg. If you have Goods to ship that are heavier than 1,000kg please contact our customer services team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. You must firmly affix a label to the side of your pallet that clearly shows the consignment reference and the address of the delivery destination (ideally a label on at least 2 sides). You will be sent a suitable document by email as part of the booking process which you can print and use if you do not have one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. The collecting driver will assess your pallet and will only make the collection if he decides your pallet has been properly prepared and is safe for transit. The collecting driver must act within health and safety guidelines and it is entirely at his discretion whether or not the collection can be made.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n
